ICC Cricket World Cup 2011

ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 is 10th Cricket World. It is being hosted by India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. First there was also Pakistan hosting this World Cup but struck out due to security reasons. This world cup is in One-Day Format. It is from 19 February, 2011 to 2 March, 2011. There are 49 matches to be played in World Cup. It is first time when Bangladesh is co-hosting any Cricket World Cup.

Qualification :-
 There are a total of 14 teams to be participating  in ICC Cricket World Cup 2011. All the 10 full members automatically are qualified to world cup as per ICC rules. For rest of 4 teams to qualify a Qualifying tournament was held in South Africa in which rest of associate teams participate.

Opening Ceremony:-
Opening Ceremony will take place in Bangladesh. Venue is Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka, Bangladesh. This event is on 17th Feb, 2011 which is 2 days before first match. It is to be hoped that it would be a great event and must watch event.


Prize of Winner:-

The winner will be awarded a ICC Cricket World Cup Trophy. It was designed by Garrard & Co. The original trophy is in headquarters in Dubai. Winning team is given just a replica of that. Just difference is original trophy contains name of all the winning teams but replica has name of just that time winning team.
Winning team will also taking a sum of handsome money of US $ 4 million or more while ICC has anounced a total pool of US $ 10million for the competition. It was decided in a meeting which was held in Dubai on 20 April, 2010.
