Bangladesh won the toss and choose to bowl first keeping in mind due factor. As batting first India opened well and lost its 1st wicket in 11th over of Sachin Tendulkar when team's score was 69. This was a run out because of misunderstanding between Sachin and Sehwag. India lost its 2nd wicket on 152 in 24th over of Gautam Gambhir.It was a bold. India lost its 3rd wicket of Virender Sehwag in 48th over on 355. It was also another bold. Well 4th wicket was of Yusuf Pathan in 50th over on score 370. Then inning ends. Virender Sehwag made most runs 175 and completed his 1st century against Bangladesh and 1st century in ICC Cricket World Cup 2011. Then it was turn of Bangladesh to prove their ability. They opened badly. They lost their 1st wicket in 7th over of Imrul Kayes when score was 56. They lost their 2nd wicket in 24th
over of Junaid Siddique when score was 129. Bangladesh lost its 
3rd wicket in 33rd over when score was 188. Bangladesh lost its 4th 
wicket in 40th over when score was 234. Bangladesh lost its 5th 
wicket in 43rd over when score was 248. Bangladesh lost its 6th wicket
 of Mahmudullah in 45th over when score was 261. They lost their 7th
wicket of Naeem Islam in 47th over when score was 275. Bangladesh
lost its 8th wicket of Abdur Razzak in 48th over when score was 279.
Bangladesh lost its 9th wicket in 49th over of Shafiul Islam when 
score was 280. Then the inning ends.


Result :- India won the 1st Match of ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 in royal styles by 87 runs.


Man of Match :- Virender Sehwag who scored 170 runs in just 140 bowls.
